Beyond Sustainability

Responsibility & Impact
Aberdevine is a British luxury lingerie brand built on the belief that design, fit and responsibility should exist together.
We create pieces that are made to last - both in construction and in relevance - using considered materials and small-scale European production.
Lingerie is very complex. A single bra can contain up to 30 individual components. Our approach is to ensure each element is chosen with care - balancing performance, longevity and environmental consideration.
As an independent brand, our model is deliberate: we prioritise responsible sourcing, longevity, and continuous improvement over volume or speed.
Materials
Our materials are sourced exclusively from suppliers within Britain and the European Union.
We work with:
· regenerated and recycled fibres, including Italian lace developed using production offcuts
· lower-impact polyamides such as Q-NOVA and AMNI Soul Eco
· responsibly sourced cellulosic fibres, including certified TENCEL™
· Materials are selected not only for their environmental profile, but for their ability to maintain structure, comfort and longevity over time.
Lace
Our lace is created using regenerated yarns produced through an advanced spinning process (MCS – Melting Continuous Spinning), which repurposes manufacturing residues into new fibres. This approach reduces waste at source while maintaining the softness, durability and performance required for lingerie.
The manufacturing process incorporates reduced water consumption and partial use of renewable energy, including solar power, with some facilities generating approximately 30% of their energy through photovoltaic systems. Our lace suppliers in Italy meet recognised standards of traceability and certification, including:
· Global Recycled Standard (GRS)
· OEKO-TEX®
· EU Ecolabel
Tulle/ Mesh & Technical Fabrics
We use Q-NOVA®, a recycled polyamide fibre produced in Italy from waste generated during the manufacturing process. It is mechanically regenerated without the use of additional chemicals and is fully traceable. Q-NOVA® is certified under:
· Global Recycled Standard
· OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
· EU Ecolabel
Other Fabrics
For gussets, we use certified TENCEL™ Lyocell derived from responsibly sourced wood pulp and produced within Europe.
This fibre was selected for its:
· biodegradability
· skin compatibility
· durability
Alternative fibres, including bamboo and cotton, were assessed but did not meet our environmental or performance standards within a European supply chain. We continue to review and test new materials as part of our ongoing development.
Additional Components
Straps & elastics
Made from recycled polyamide derived from regenerated raw materials, sourced from certified European suppliers.
Underwires
We use non-coated metal underwires produced by a small family manufacturer in Poland. Unlike plastic-coated alternatives, these are designed for durability and future reuse as part of our circular approach.
Dyes
Our collections are intentionally limited in colour. Where possible, we prioritise dyes derived from natural sources. Our Cream and Honey tones are created using plant-based dye processes, including oak gall nut (cream) and birch bark (honey). Black remains an exception, as current natural dye solutions do not yet meet our standards for depth, consistency and longevity. We continue to explore alternatives.
A restrained colour palette supports a more considered wardrobe, encouraging longevity over seasonal consumption.
Production

All Aberdevine garments are produced in small batches in Europe, primarily in Poland, in collaboration with experienced independent ateliers. Each piece is developed through multiple prototype iterations, refined by our founder, specialist designers and garment technican before entering production.
Manufacturing takes place within a closely connected network, allowing:
· direct oversight
· consistent quality
· alignment of values
Production is carried out by a small team of highly skilled seamstresses, ensuring craftsmanship is respected and maintained by our founders’ visits and personal meetings with all the parties involved. All this allows for direct communication and ongoing oversight.
Supply Chain & Ethics
We work exclusively with trusted European and British partners only and prioritise long-term relationships over transactional production.
While we are a small brand, our expectations are clear:
· safe and respectful working environments
· fair and lawful pay
· no tolerance for forced or child labour
Waste & Production Impact
At brand level, waste is minimal due to our small-batch approach.
Most production waste occurs at supplier level. We are working towards greater visibility of this and aim to collaborate with partners over time to reduce unnecessary waste. Internally, waste is limited to sampling iterations and occasional packaging error.
Packaging & Delivery
Packaging is kept minimal and functional. Orders are shipped in recycled and recyclable boxes, sourced in Britain and Europe only, sized to reduce excess material and support efficient delivery.
We work with established logistics partners:
United Kingdom: Royal Mail, InPost
International: DHL, FedEx, InPost
Where possible, orders are fulfilled regionally (pop-up shop pickup, direct to customer) to reduce unnecessary transport.
Business Travel
Business travel is limited and primarily connected to product development and manufacturing oversight in Europe. Travel is kept purposeful and infrequent.
Product Longevity
Aberdevine pieces are designed as long-term garments rather than seasonal purchases.
Our focus on:
· construction
· adjustability
· material quality
· allows products to adapt with the body and remain in use for longer, reducing the need for frequent replacement.
Circularity & End of Life
We are developing a garment return and reuse initiative. Through this, customers will be able to return worn Aberdevine pieces in exchange for a future purchase benefit.
Returned garments will be:
· disassembled where possible
· metal components, such as underwires, hook and eye tapes and more can be recovered and reused
· biodegradable elements returned to natural processes where appropriate
Due to the complexity of lingerie construction, some materials are not yet widely recyclable. We are continuing to explore improved solutions in this area.
Environmental Impact & Carbon Approach
We are in the early stages of formally measuring our carbon footprint.
As a small independent brand, our initial focus has been on building a responsible supply chain and product model. We are now working towards structured measurement using recognised SME tools and frameworks.
Our primary areas of impact include:
· materials and components
· manufacturing processes
· shipping and distribution
Due to the nature of small-scale production, some data, particularly at supplier level, is not yet fully quantified. Improving transparency in these areas forms part of our ongoing work.
Your Role
The longevity of each garment is central to its impact.Caring for your pieces and wearing them over time plays an important role in reducing overall consumption.
Charitable Commitment

For every item purchased, £1 is donated to a selected charitable initiative. For 2026, we are supporting Helmsley Walled Garden in North Yorkshire, contributing to biodiversity through the planting and maintenance of wildflower areas.
Looking Forward
Aberdevine is built on considered progress. We do not position ourselves as complete, but as intentional, constantly researching, learning, refining materials, processes and systems over time.

What matters is underneath.
