Aberdevine Supplier Guidance
Introduction
The Aberdevine Supplier Code of Conduct (“The Code”) outlines the minimum standards of our suppliers and manufacturers for all Aberdevine products throughout the duration of its work. The detailed work includes but is no the sourcing of components and the manufacturing of garments.
The general principles of The Code are to:
- Carry out all operations relating to the products of Aberdevine in accordance with our values of versatility, timelessness, excellence and thoughtfulness.
- All operations are to be carried out under an ethical framework.
- All operations are to be carried out with an understanding of a responsibility to respect the environment.
- Comply with all relevant legislation.
Labour Rights
Aberdevine shall not work with any organisation that allows any form of forced or involuntary labour nor any organisation that employs minors (as defined under Conventions 138 and 182 of the International Labour Organisation). Furthermore, no discrimination or discriminatory practices should be carried out, in any capacity, based on race, sex, gender identity, marital status, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, union membership, nationality or any other protected characteristic.
Any organisation working for, or with, Aberdevine shall ensure that employees have the right of association, in accordance with national law in that area. Workers’ right to association (and any representatives) should be protected from discrimination and not impeded in their representative work.
Workers shall be fairly and accurately compensated for the work they do.
Compliance with any other relevant legislation should be ensured at all times.
Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibility
All manufacturers and suppliers are responsible for health and safety within their operations for Aberdevine. However, they shall ensure that all products do not contain any health or safety risks to customers or any undue risks to the environment. In addition, manufacturers and suppliers shall ensure that all colleagues within the operations are protected from health and safety incidents.
All suppliers and manufacturers shall recognise their duty to protect the environment carry out their business practices accordingly, this includes compliance with all relevant health & safety and environmental legislation.
Implementation and Transparency
All manufacturers and suppliers are expected to implement any necessary measures to ensure they adhere to The Code and ensure that all activities related to The Code are carried out in an honest and transparent way.
